Heart Of The Lion

Roberta Leigh
3.10/5 (72 ratings)
Philippa had just settled in nicely to an absorbing job on the "heart page" of a big newspaper when she committed the cardinal sin of dealing personally with a client. Worse, the young girl whom she encouraged to elope with her boy-friend turned out to be the niece of her boss, the formidable newspaper tycoon Marius Lyon!

So although Philippa had never until then met the man, she was not entirely surprised when he promptly gave her the sack. But that was by no means the end of Marius Lyon, as far as Philippa was concerned! In fact they continued to meet -- and to cross swords.

Inevitably, it ended with her falling in love with him; inevitably, Philippa had to admit that nothing could ever come of it. For, even had Marius looked on her as a prospective wife, the glamorous Celia had every reason -- and all the means -- to see that he should never have her.
