Holly she was going to Waterhole, Texas to marry a young rancher she thought she’d been corresponding with, however, the old, rude and arrogant man who picks her up at the stagecoach station in San Antonio to take her to meet her fiancé, reveals along the way that he is actually who she has been writing to and now that she’s agreed to the marriage here is nothing she can do but go through with the ceremony.
However, when the stagecoach has an accident a few miles outside of Waterhole, Holly is able to runaway wearing only her wedding dress. As she heads away from the town, she falls over a log in front of a small cabin, hitting her head. When she awakens, she finds herself the guest of a young man named Nicholas Claus who is not only kind to her, but loves Christmas and believes God has sent him as answer to his Christmas prayers.
