Researching the Charlene Downes case led us in many directions, and, on several occasions, the disappearance of another young girl was mentioned.
As with Charlene, fifteen-year-old Paige Chivers was last seen close to her home in Blackpool on 23rd August 2007, and although her killers have been tried and convicted, her body has never been found.
But first a warning…
… this series is not for everyone.
Some enthusiasts have read and watched everything there is on these cases already and are looking to us for fresh content… these crimes have NOT been solved—they are cold cases, so you will NOT find fresh content. So, if this sounds like you, there are plenty of other books out there more suited to you.
Like Charlene Downes, Paige’s homelife was said to be dysfunctional and, after being expelled from school aged 13, she drifted, mixing with the wrong crowds, taking drugs and drinking alcohol.
It is also suggested she was known to frequent fast-food outlets for the same reasons as Charlene.
By the time her mum died, two years later, when Paige was just fifteen-years-old, she had already spiralled out of control.
The further we looked into both girls' disappearances, the more convinced we became that these two cases just had to be linked in some way.
There are far too many similarities for it to be a coincidence, surely? But as with all of the titles in our missing series of books, we invite you to make your own minds up.
If you are a true crime enthusiast or are just starting out on your true crime journey, the cases we focus on in this series might be right up your alley.
As the title suggests, these crimes have not been totally solved, even though, in some cases, the police have managed to secure a conviction, they still haven’t recovered the victims’ bodies.
In this series of Missing books, we will examine the evidence, the background of the victims as well as the suspects, and try to piece together what actually happened.
Inside, you will find… • A thorough examination of the case to date. • Detailed forensic evidence where possible. • An open-minded inspection of this baffling case. • We will try to make sense of what could have happened. • All scenarios looked at (some hearsay and not proven). • This short, concise, unbiased book can be read in one sitting. • Straight and to the point—no unnecessary waffle.

Please note, the findings in this book are mostly fact from official sources, however, there is also a small amount of hearsay and speculation which by no means is meant to form part of official opinion.
Authors’ note… While researching this case we were astounded by the lack of information available.
With most missing persons cases, there is a group of people toiling tirelessly in the background to try to keep the story alive and in the forefront of people’s minds. Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be anything like this for Paige.
As we are writing this book, no official documentaries have been commissioned and very few YouTube channels have highlighted the story.
Because of this we considered abandoning this project, but we thought it was important to get whatever meagre information we were able to find out there, hence the reduced price.
