The Cosmos in Her Hand is a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel that tells the story of the survivors of a human extinction event and their efforts to thwart the additional malevolent goals of a self-appointed mad King who is determined to rule the Universe.

The initial extinction event occurred in a single moment. Survivors are few and far between. They are left confused about how to respond to their new reality in the absence of reliable leadership, and some seek out community with other survivors in order to create stability for themselves.

Some survivors are not seeking to rebuild and establish community. One man, transformed by grief and a desire for revenge, emerges as a ruthless leader. He is determined to discover the identity of the person responsible for the extinction event. This man wants answers and retribution. He’ll endure community only as a means to an end.

After 17 years without satisfying answers, a traveler arrives on the field of the small community where the man and other survivors have established themselves. Does the traveler have the answers the man has been searching for? The traveler insists she does, but she will make the man work for the answers to his questions.
