Just as Julia is preparing for a new camping adventure, her cousin, Clarice, calls and asks if Julia can help with her mother’s estate. Julia’s Aunt Samantha was mega-wealthy and lived in the ultra-exclusive beachfront community of SeaBreeze, Florida. Aunt Samantha collected artwork, and Clarice is worried the contractors they’ve hired will “sticky-finger” some of the paintings and other priceless art treasures.

Julia happily agrees to spend the next few weeks living at Aunt Samantha’s and watch over things. Unbeknownst to Julia, a hurricane is brewing off of the Yucatan Peninsula. The hurricane suddenly changes course and heads right for the Florida Panhandle where SeaBreeze is located. Not only that, but one of the resort’s full-time residents dies under mysterious circumstances.

What begins as a relaxing stay at SeaBreeze turns into not one, but two murder investigations. As usual, the authorities get everything wrong. And, it’s up to Julia and her two sidekicks, Dottie and Penelope, to solve the case. Aided, of course by Toby, Julia’s four-legged, tail-wagging traveling companion.

The Case of the Cautious Crow is the second book in the Julia Lives in a Van series. It’s a light-hearted, cozy murder mystery with a delightful cast of characters. This book is safe for anyone at any age to read. It has no swearing, no explicit content, and no gore.
