Quintessence of Sai Satcharitra : A Biography of the Incredible Sai Baba of Shirdi

In Sai Baba of Shirdi's life, two things are shrouded in mystery and remain highly controversial: the birth of Sai Baba and who his Guru was. The great Masters come into this world in mysterious ways. They avoid talking about their own life, path, and sadhana as it is not always possible for a common human to comprehend the magnanimity of the depth of such a life and the lofty purpose of their divine lila in human form. In “Quintessence of Sai Satcharitra” I have tried to share my humble thoughts on these aspects of Sai Baba’s life, only to add more clarity to the overall spectrum of the life divine.

As I sat to write the Bengali book on Sai's life, I was not just authoring a biography; it was like being bathed in the light of the Divine Lord Himself. My heart only sang Sai as the pen moved on its own. Page after page, the words flowed as a river would flow towards the ocean; finally the book was complete. It was as if I had months of sadhana being in the closest proximity to an ascended Master whose grace was tangible and overwhelming at times.

This translated work from the Bengali book "Sai Satcharit Saar" to English is a reservoir of infinite wisdom that flowed from Sainath and brings into light the times when these great sages appeared in different corners of India teaching the timeless principles to the common man in the most common language. I only hope that those who are devotees of Sai will feel the essence of Sai Satcharitra here and may those who are reading the life of this great sage for the first time be inspired to follow his teachings and realize the eternal presence of Sai and Self as One.
