The hilarious debut novel from one of the world's favourite children's authors. Benny Shaw, a young sporting fanatic, is forced to leave his beloved Wexford, home of all his heroes, and move with his family to Tunisia! How will he survive in a place like this? Then he teams up with Omar, and a madcap friendship between the two boys leads to trouble, crazy escapades, a unique way of communicating, and heartbreaking challenges.
The O’Brien Press was delighted to join up with Children’s Book Ireland once again to give young artists from around the country the opportunity to have their artwork featured on the cover of a professionally published book. This year was the eleventh year of the Competition and the winning cover was illustrated by the very talented Patricia Poprawa of Glenswilly National School, Co. Donegal. Ivan O’Brien, MD The O’Brien Press, said this year’s winner “is both graphically strong and really well drawn”. Aisling Ní Challaráin from Gaelscoil Aonach Urmhumhan, Co. Tipperary, and Lara Orosz from Milford National School, Co. Limerick were well-deserved runners-up in this year’s Competition.
