Kim has been dragging her feet for years, refusing to give in to the hype and purchase her own domestic android. When her sister finally wears her down, she ends up taking home a discounted unit. “Do you require anything?” it asked.
It was on the tip of her tongue to say she did not need anything, but her eyes moved over it and she nodded.
“What do you require?”
“What does your domination programming entail?” Kim asked softly. She shifted on the couch when the robot’s eyes seemed to sharpen on her.
“Would you like me to demonstrate?”
Kim blinked. She had to be imagining the heat in the robot’s voice. It stood unnaturally still, as it waited for her answer. After a long moment, Kim dropped her chin in a decisive nod. The robot lunged for her.
